Welcome to Day 22 of 30 Days of Qigong to Better Health. Chris begins today's session with a brief explanation of the eight Extraordinary Meridians that help regulate the flow of energy throughout the body. They do this by connecting the main meridians and by serving as reservoirs of energy. Their connections ensure that energy flows smoothly through the body. By serving as reservoirs of energy, the Extraordinary Meridians can supply deficiencies or absorb excesses in the main meridians. For deeper explanation and enhancement of your growing Qigong practice, you may want to refer to Chris' book, "Qigong for Self-Refinement."
Today's meditation is the Golden Ball Meditation, also known as Collecting Yang Energy. This practice stimulates the 8 Extraordinary Vessels with the flow of qi throughout the body and in all the regular meridians. Chris demonstrates how, beginning in your Wu Ji Posture, you visualize the air around you as Golden Energy, gather this energy, and disperse. The movement of this Meditation is fluid and synchronized with your breath. It will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.
